Don,
I agree. Or don't have the event between the 2 nationals, so there are not over 800 cars.

Brett: The Points meet could be a lot of fun for everyone just by starting on Thursday like it was once . if I recall the races were done by 5 o'clock every day . very little night racing and the workers did not have to work from 7am until 11pm like what happened in the last race . racing at 11 at night is not good especially when the track gets cold then no one wins if a race car crashes ,

real simple, run time trails on Thurs and Fri, go into rd 1 on Sat morning, run 3 rds at least on Sat and go into Sunday.
Now, looking at the "other" side of the street, will it happen, cause now this cuts out the test and tune for the track to generate income on Thurs. I know some of you dont look at this part of the deal, but it is what it is. I think the bigger problem is Don is getting older and room was calling him at 9pm to go lay on the pillow, lol. |

why dont we get rid of the dog and pony show. Aka the nitro harleys. although they dont take much time but why even have them there. The top sportsman and top dragster burn out contests seem to take a long time also. really who needs a burnout that big. this is just my, and a few others observations. (knowbody needs to take it personal)

I've mentioned this in a previous post, why not open an earlier turn-off gate to get cars off the track quicker. Vegas probably has the longest shut down area and if cars were off the track quicker you would get more pairs per hour.

I say we keep it at 3 days (I don't really want three 4 day races in a row) but reduce it to just 2 qualifying runs. Running this event the week after the national event does not require that we get 3 shots to dial the cars. Get rid of one round of qualifying for everyone and instead run first round when you would be running that final qualifying run and you would solve the late night run problems.
In 2011 we have Tucson divisional one weekend, Phoenix Nat'l the next, a week off then Vegas Nat'l, Vegas Div'l then Pomona. With 5 races in 6 weeks, do you really want to stretch one of these races out to an extra day? I think this falls under the "careful what you wish for" category... |
