Jeff, I wish you would tell us. I'd love to know what NHRA really had in mind? It would give us the opportunity to both show our appreciation for your hard work, and at the same time know where we stand and what to look out for.

I also wish we would have kept the 400 stuff, its a better combo for sure now. Look at Dave Casey ( not sure if he is the 400 but I'm pretty sure it is).
Jeff/Chad NHRA DOES-NOT giveaway 10/20 HP to anybody, I know every-time it's been +6 or just enough so the 440-6pak COULD-NOT PLAY WITH THE 396/375 AND OR THE TRUE BLUE 428's. Must have been a bad boy this year again, cause no xmas gift from NHRA again!!! Your right as intimidating/nasty the carbs and hole in the hood look it's not the best combo, and the really bad thing about running MOPAR is NO after-market heads, intakes, or carbs, OH AND NO ALUMINUM STUFF either!!! The 417 factor stays maybe because there are only a handful of us running the BIG-B-BODY!!! And even the better factored E-BODIES really struggle to compete and I believe they stayed @-405HP too bad that they couldn't tighten us up a bit, so the OLD stuff/guys could still play. THE END MAY BE CLOSER THAN WE THINK - - - - ONE NEVER KNOWS!!!!

Jeff 2010#14DP is still on back burner - all the way back burner, long story hope we can get a jump on it over the winter.

So, you think NHRA was giving your engine hp to help the GM racers? Not because somebody hit the hp trigger (twice) and your engine's average was too far under? Do you really believe that? If you could not get your car going that fast, somebody evidently was.
Your DP will be fast. You don't need to know anything to put one of those over a second under. For now anyway.

ED your right, I guess I'm just a bitter-old-cranky-dude. The HP hits and record runs came from factored tracks which didn't help it was a long time ago and only one guy we won't mention names, the ratio is low, no help, and it just seemed that as we were sneaking up on the GM/Ford combo's we would get pushed down.I take it back - - - - - let me get a beer and get back out in the garage and work on that Mope with NO hope!!! You have to agree with me on at least one thing, even though I think that I have all the best parts, that I don't get to use all the good after market parts that benefit others aluminum heads especially.

Frank, one reason many race GM cars is parts availability, not any brand thing. The reason there are more fast GM cars is there are simply more GM cars racing. It has been the easy, cheaper way to go. There are more GM cars on the road so it I'd easier to find the car you need to build. Aftermarket companies are going to make parts for which there is more demand. They are going to make what they can sell they can sell the most. My short stint with a Mustang in the late '70s surprised me. I couldn't just go buy everything I needed. Has to make more of what I needed. Not everybody can do that, so racing a GM car is easier. Look around at how many tow with a Ford or Dodge truck. Not everybody is a brandbigot. But, man, many of you guys are! Lol
