Was disappointed to read that apparently Bob will not be driving this year (or at least that's inferred by the article). Trust me, that first run he made at the Nationals was unbelievable...Bob is THE MAN.

Jim, that first run at Indy was as good as it gets; it was as if he had never retired. On the positive side; he is deeply involved in Cunningham's engine program, especially the cylinder heads, and, at this time, he will be the crew chief for Buddy Perkinson. There is no one more qualified to make a Pro Stock Ford competitive than Bob Glidden!

Well, apparently the other shoe has dropped as you can see on the NHRA site and as kindly provided by ClassRacer in the right margin of the home page. I really like this new feature but dang I hate this news. Guess Bob has always been known to want to run things his way but Cunningham should defer to "the Man", he might learn a thing about winning but guess these days it's more about money than winning.

One has to wonder whether BG doesn't like the new driver or whether he didn't like EE getting the boot, if she did?

I read in a quote where Cunningham said we have been doing this along time we know what were doing without Bob Glidden. I'm a hardcore Chevy guy, but Glidden knows how to make a Ford run. Cunningham's cars were down 4 mph to the leaders in Pro Stock. In Pro Stock that's a mile behind. He is waaaaaaaaaay down on HP. He needs Glidden big time. After 10 to 12 straight DNQ's he will figure that out.
