And just like clockwork........"oh yeah, if you were in their class......"

Look at the big picture. Movies, manufacturers, government inter...ok, maybe that's too far. LOL!

To make it short and sweet, I want more of both. Wonder when the twin turbo 6cyl f-150 will be in the books and what will the factor be? hehehehehe
Coyote mustang
ecoboost flex
Too bad 3/4tons aren't allowed or a turbo diesel stocker would be interesting.

Correct the hp ratings and nobody cares how new, what brand, nor what they cost.

What class do you run?

No answer. Just what I thought.

You don't offend me. I don't know you, so I couldn't possibly dislike you or judge you. Trust me, I'm far from an elitist, and I run at a number of "rural tracks". (even saw the car featured in the video race at Pageland) It's just my opinion that what we saw in the video doesn't typify southern drag racers. Moot point, anyway. I'll certainly watch the movie, and will be happy to see everything in the broader context. My apologies if my comments offended anyone.

No offense here Michael. As someone who is a lifelong resident of NC and has grown up at several of the local tracks I too cringe when I see the southern drag racer portrayed in a beer drinking and helmet throwing fashion like I saw in the trailer.

I think a more accurate dipiction of a southern drag racer would be a racer exemplifying good sportsmanship and offering a fellow competitor a helping hand, the shirt off his back, or a home cooked meal.

Maybe they should have just followed Larry Stott around for a few days?

I think Mr. Beard already covered it.. But don't take offense to it. I do however agree with him. Some of my best friends are good ole boys, but this is not exactly the light that our sport needs to be seen in. Not in any time, and especially not in these economic times when people are leaving our sport due to lack of sponsorship after decades of racing..

I can't wait for Shift to come out! Some of my friends don't really understand the whole drag racing deal....maybe I could talk them into seeing this movie!

The trailer of that movie is a bit over dramatic....IMO.

I have been bracket racing for 14 years, and I may have seen 3 racers in all that time throw a fit after losing a round . (like was depicted in the trailer)
Seriously, I think that dude in the movie needs some anger management training! ....LOL
It's just bracket racing !

Thanks for the link Jeff !

My favorite part of 2LBT is the first 5 minutes. That street racing scene brings back memories of when I was in So. Cal. in the early 80's.

Plus, that '55 Chevy reminds me of my first hot rod:
'69 Road Runner..
4 speed...4.88 gears and someone put a stock eliminator engine in that car and street raced it.
It had a 413 Max Wedge...cross ram 2 -4-bbls..solid cam...high compression, Accel dual point dizzy,etc.

I paid the guy $ 1,200 for it and burned rubber all the way home. Lucky I didn't get a ticket that day.

Those were truly the glory days for muscle cars for me...they were cheap because gas was high and nobody wanted big blocks.
