probably wasn't the nose Rich but rather the air dam. As you can see, I don't have the air dam and I've never tripped the beam with the nose even when slamming the brakes killing 9 MPH nor had a bogus time slip. If the air dam trips the beams instead of the tires, it will show faster/bogus MPH on the time slip.

Ed B. trust me the nose was coming down like a pile of bricks on my car. I cranked the poop out of the spring seats to raise the car and stiffen the nose. I had those single adjustable QA-1 shocks. I am sure your car has something way better....no way MPR would use what I had. and your car is a SS'er not a stocker...probably a lot of subtle changes under there you won't find on a Stocker....

At one Lucas race I never went better than 122+mph all weekend. 10.80's Hit the tree .010 on a very nice hit and was hard on the brakes as I rolled up on a much slower car and we both broke out, me out more.....he had a good rt as well..... .....My mph was well over 123 on that run.......Did not jive....

Rich, got Afco double adjustable on the Bird that will be on your old ride in a few weeks being that I'm installing Afco BNC double adjustables in their place.

Made a run earlier this season where the MPH was nearly 1 1/2 faster that any run previous that day and couldn't figure it out till I looked under the nose and found a piece of plastic underbody adjacent to where the air dam would be, hanging low. Bolted it back in place and the MPH was 1 1/2 slower and back to where it had been all day. The underbody had obviously tripped the beams on that run and not the tire.

Good....Then if Larry lets me drive it I know I can get on the brakes without feeling like I blew out both front tires or maybe the springs collapsed....

PS today was a great day......had the day off and scored a brand new Ron's Terminator in a trade deal for my APD carb......nice....
