Let's see if I have this right. This only happens at a national events which most people here run maybe once or twice a year. You have to dump enough oil or something to require them to scramble the gear. It has to make it past your diaper (or come from some area not covered by by the diaper). And you get the first one for free.

Yet for a whole host of people here, this is the last straw and the world is coming to an end. I don't get it.

The "bigger picture"? If you had been at Vegas 2, where the oildowns made the experience worse than a proctology exam, where single classes took hours to complete, where one round of qualifying took seven hours, where race day was "two pairs, 45 minute oildown, three pairs, oilddown, etc.", you would have left like I and thousands of other people saying "something has to be done about this".

But if you want to pay attention to your "bigger picture", don't enter national events. Problem solved.

I was at the Vegas race and totally agree with you.

I inquired about the idea of not fining a person who has the proper oil retention device but still deposits oil on the track. I was told that it would be considered. Maybe we as racers should push for that instead of or in addtion to the freebie.

I was also at Vegas 2 and know what you are talking about. It was ugly....
I like the idea of something more for those who use the diapers.
I also stayed for the Divisional the next weekend and noted the class causing most of the oil down delays on qualifying day at the National was treated like step children at the Divisional with scheduling at that race. They waited all day and ran late into the night while we went to dinner at the Casino.
I have friends who race that category and we agreed that something would be done after that mess. They thought it was over after the scheduling issue at the Division race.
I guess we now know the results was a little more.
My 2 Cents
