Went through this with deep staging a few years ago. (note: I have never deep staged, ever) It ain't goin to happen this way. Get the track owners on board (they are Compulink customers) you might have a fighting chance. If you can get enough tracks "across the country" to adopt the idea then NHRA will have to consider it. You still may never see it at a national or divisional until it proven at the bracket racing level.
Ohh, by the way what happened to deep staging. You can but you're on you're own. No holding the tree any more.
Not true in S/SS, Frank

Voted out by the majority with fast cars.

You know, we could probably use that approach to vote out the blown CJ's .Why not ? There's more of us than them.
Then , if Ed keeps causing trouble with his AMC, we'll vote him out too. LOL

Ed F. Always like you posts! You fixing the red light rule was not meant for you, my bad.
I'm for leaving this alone! And yes I leave first most of the time.

This is pure BS, but fun recovering from the flu which kicked my *** for 24 hours!

Mark, the fast guys may have voted deep out, but if there were more of them who voted the democratic majority spoke.
Some may have had their own self interest in mind but others may have realized the unfair advantages being handed over and exploited. It's supposed to be fair and it was not as it brought the human element in that autostart was supposed to get rid of. That holding the tree for deep was BS!!

This red light thing is just an issue of the driver training his or her mind to see their spot on the tree. If you see it and the race car setup is right you will not red light. It's not easy and as we get older more difficult. The young guys don't have a lot of money so they train their minds to take advantage of what tools they have. The older guys may not have the commitment or talent or youth but they have the buck$ to go fast.

Some things in life just are not fair!!!

Frank, The autostart was put in place for one reason at first . That being to speed up the national events. The same goes for the 3 amber tree, as opposed to the five. All that stuff trickles down from the Nat'l event track; not the other way around
Someone mentioned the worst red light rule should start at the grass roots level. That's not the way all this stuff works.
I suspect the No Deep ruling was put in for the same reason.
No one said the tree should be held for anyone, but using the pre-stage light to disqualify anyone is pure BS. That was put there as a warning light. Nothing more.
Where were all the traditionalists when THIS came up ??

Now the "unbiased poll/ majority rule thing.
That would be like going into NYC or downtown San Francisco and asking :
Which party most represents the little guy and the labor unions?

__ Republicans

__ Democrats

I showed you guys the number of 10 sec. cars at Pomona. What would you expect to happen with a poll here?

Good luck this year , from a signman

Bob are you kidding, Ed apologize? He's the same guy who (for some unknown reason is implying that I haven't raced in 3-4yrs?). I don't know what kind of water he's been drinking but I don't want any...lol.

Oh and by the way Ed, because I know you're reading this (and that you were talking about me too), and it has NOT been 3-4 years since I raced last...my last race was just 2wks after your fun at Indy last year, and my most recent Stock Eliminator race was just 11 months ago, so just like you're apparently a flap jack short of a full stack on other topics, so are you on this one...hardy har har!!!!

If you built a car without knowing the rules first, you should just accept the rules, you screwed up. Much like going red. If you expect everybody to agree to get a rule you and a few others don't like changed to suit you once you start racing, ....
Well, you know.

This horse died long ago. You can stop beating it now. You lost.

What class do you run?
You may try to build the fastest car for your category, but know this...someone will always build one faster....all of that wasted money/time for the cold hard facts.....

Interesting that since you made this post, those votes to allow the starting line to change a race just like the finish line does, has swelled by 33 extra votes. Why is that? Could it be that some of those 11sec & slower cars agree with the first 26 voters as opposed to the 9 & 10sec. runners who may side with you (again voting against your own best interest, Ed)?

I too am doing quite well without it, but that doesn't make it right...I've just gotten use to it.

Oh and one more thing, since there would be plenty of latinas in Mexico, I could be good there...plus I know a little bit of spanish, so I'd be ok there communication wise too. Moreover, Guadalajara isn't that far away from the Pacific Ocean, so the sunsets would be awesome too!
