Just can't stay on point....on the one hand we are the backbone and core reason for existence (historically & charter) but on the other hand we cost 'em money and we should be grateful we can be on the same property as the pros. geesh...just say that we are a bother and get it over with

I can't believe we cost them money.....tell me it ain't so Don Kennedy

From inside info from the NHRA home office the Sportsman entry fees insurance charges cover the entire National Events insurance costs.
Yes, you are covering EVERYONE including the spectators who come in the gate.
This years increase/enhancement comes after the spectator death in 2010 at the National Event.
Thanks NHRA for allowing us Sportsman racers to cover ALL your insurance costs at the National Events and then treat us the way you do....
My 2 Cents which is about all I have left....

Thumbs down Re: Dont miss Compton in new digger

I have a novel idea....Why dont ALL of you stay home for a couple of races and see what NHRA thinks. Save gas and diesel, wear and tear on equipment. Make it a be nice weekend for your other halfs for a change. Yeah right.....I know that will ever happen. You have no right to bitch and complain when you drop your pants, bend over and say stick it here big boy every time a race comes up.!

I've been saying this for a long time. I love the other racers, just can't stand the pomposity of that arrogant a-hole and the other top floor Glendora stooges. Just 2 or 3 races with few to no competitors and that will get there attention. It will leave many spectators with a bad taste in their mouths wondering "why all the down time now", sending Glendora into damage control overdrive. I'm talking NO SPORTSMAN whatsoever.

It can be done...If the people in Egypt can overthrow a bad government while being shot at, then all sportsman racers can do something to catch their attention... like a no show for 2-3 races i think this is a good start...( don't look into anything I'm not advocating anything ) Maybe some racers are thinking a BAD place to race is better that NO place to race...Luke SS 311

Damn, The one issue I was looking forward to, and it has'nt gotten to my part of Pennsylvania yet!'
I really wanted to read 'ol Toms' accolades of us lowly sportsman racers.
My Dragsters keep coming later and later
Must be my mail carrier reading it first, cause the subscription dept. says there is never a problem on their end!

Every picture I see of him he has the look of someone who just polished off a bottle or two of
Wild Irish Rose or Thunderbird.Maybe it's the buggy eyes.If I was in law enforcement and stopped him the first thing I'd reach for is the breathalyzer.Maybe it's just me.

Pomona:
330 sportsman @ $95=$31,350
Gators
330 sportsman @ $95=$31,350

That's a lot of insurance money.Anybody have an idea what the premiums cost per event?

Stretch that out to 22 events =$689,700.

It's not all liability insurance.
They used to insure the weather (gate). Not sure if they still do though.
