I wasn't comparing, I was simply putting a scenario onto Larry's lap. I'm sure Larry doesn't need Sean Kennedy sticking up for him.
Okay, you are right, it was not dishonest. I misread your post.

I'm not sticking up for anyone. I was making a point. Just like you were. Discussing stock eliminator on a public message board because the last time I chekced, that's what public forums were for. I don't know what the problem with that is.

You should be happy to have Ray a FORD Dealer Dragracing on his own Dollar. This means alot to The Corporate People at Ford like Jim Farley, if you understand the Corporate World. Why don't you ask Brian Wolfe how important it is to Have Dealer Support like Ray"s! So Ford can continue to build these cars and not just funnel all thier Motorsports Dollars toward NASCAR. Get your car done go out whip thier ***** if you can. Just how good of a shoe were you when you first statred Drag Racing?

As far as;

I fail to see the outstanding part.[/QUOTE] not many people really care about your crying all the time!!

Ray can’t even get on the qualifying sheet because he left before the tree on one run.
Ray cuts a 500 plus light in round one
Ray runs the car flat out with no chance of catching Richie Mace. What if Mace would have broken out too, then he would have looked like a bigger fool.
Drew dials 1.27 under, which would give him and others with that combo 4.25% HP Monday.
Drew runs 1.26 for the loss giving him and others 18hp Monday.
So at the end of the event one lost second round and one lost first round. Neither had a heads up and both came home with 18 more HP then they came with. I fail to see the outstanding part.

I too now know who blue over ralph is or should I say MR LEE.

Ralph when I first started drag racing I got to run a 103 mph 1983 malibu wgn and had to pay 1/2 of my way. Comparing my racing program at the age of 18 to the skillman’s program is a not really a fair. No one gave me a $175,000 rig, $85,000 race car, a truck driver, the best tools money can buy and a blank check all at the age of 18.

I have no problem with these guys racing in stock and super stock and I know they have tons of money, but there is a time and place to whip out your big di#k (INDY). So from all the CJ racers thankyou for the two instance HP hits that were totally uncalled for. Can’t wait to see you guys this spring in those cool Jeff Gordon fire suits.
It is easy to understand why somebody running this combo would be mad about what happened this weekend at the gators. What the Skillmans did really makes no sense to me and alot of other people on here but to each his own i guess?!

Money and performance alone will not buy a national event. That accomplishment requires a driver.

HEY, everybody should switch back to decaf on this issue. Ford built 100 2008 and a 100 2010 Cobra Jets and another 100 rollers and there are 50 more CJ's and 50 more rollers coming in March plus privateers. That opens up the possibility of 300 plus cars blowing away the index. Not everyone who buys a CJ or a Dodge Drag Pack is a professional drag racer. They bought a turn key race car and have the money to make it fun for them. This does not make them bad people but they don't understand and probably don't care about the politics of stock and s/s racing. That's the reality of building turn key drag cars and it is not the same as building turn key road race cars. Personally, I am glad to see the Fords and Fiats out there racing. How many people would have built this combination and got it homologated by NHRA themselves( yea,yea I know I left myself wide open on this one). What if Ford had hand picked the racers for the 50 cars and controlled the tunes. Would that have made everyone any happier? What's the difference if your beat by a little or a lot, only your feelings are hurt and your still the loser. Drag racing would be a lot more fun if we could race heads up and ba**s out AND everyone was competitive with no breakout. We know that's not any more realistic than Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny ( he's coming next month with my chocolate eggs). I think in the coming months you will see more problems with the indexes as more Fords come out to play. This will make the professional Ford guys unhappy and the competition ecstatic. This may lead the CJ's to their own (gasp) class, like SS/AH but that is still a while away. Just my two cents, as I finish off my Bud Lite. Nitey night, tomorrow is a work day.

I remember some family style race teams that have left a mark on drag racing. Paul and Jerry Harvey, The Tasca's, The VanCleves. They owned dealerships, raced and improved the latest that Ford had to offer and left a positive mark on drag racing. I think the Skillmans are that same kind of racer.

You are correct with this a small Bit of info

Tasca's have always had a lot of Direct Ford Money Bob sr was connected directly to HF II and had alot of Ford Sponsorship then as he has today.

Paul Harvey smae way with alot of $$ from Ford from the time he was at Alderman Ford as GM then to Bob Ford in Dearborn as Gm ( the Len Ricther Tbolt that ford supplied as well as driver Len he was a test driver at the Proving Ground if you remember bothe Tasca and Havey more or less quit when Ford with drew in 1970.

The VanCleves pretty much always done it with thier own $$$$ even when Ford was not there supporting racing.

What are you guys worried about the CJs factor going too high now? It is not like anyone with a CJ is yanking the engine and ordering camshafts etc to make up for the HP hit!

Throw a chunk of weight in the box and lift off the throttle a tenth of a second later than you do now LOL.

I remember that Drew Skilman was #1 Q at Joliet last year in AA/S. The only work done to the car by his own admission was to put different front tires on it.

I think that having more racers with CJs and DPs will be good. What you will see after more hits like this is a gap between the CJ and DP race car "purchasers" and the hard core CJ and DP racers that test and flog their cars. When you start seeing CJs and DPs actually duking it out full throttle, you will find out who has the means and the talent to make them run to their full potential. Everyone thinks they are fast now becuse no one shows the true potential of the cars. The fact that Skillman's triggered doesn't change that, but it is a good start.
I know what it is like to get hp from someone cutting a late light and wasting it, but my point is you can't control that part. Even if you complain on a forum about it.
