Talking The cost of racing at gainesville

How many who went to Gainesville this year kept track of costs? How much higher was your fuel (diesel or gas) bill than last year? We all know the entry fee was higher due to paying for the fuel cars so how did this year turn out in relation to what your won or how much "FUN" you had. Did you enjoy the lack of class runoffs and NO CLASS WIN MONEY? Did you enjoy your "Enhancements" better this year than last? Just thinking out loud.

I withdrew from Gainesville as I was unable to leave on Wednesday as the schedule required, due to my current workload. I ended up running two local races, won Saturday, R/U Sunday, had a ton of fun, and made a lot of money.

I typically tow about 12,000 miles a year at 12 mpg = 1,000 gallons, so if gas is $1/gal higher than last year, it'd cost an extra $1,000 this year. Made more than that this weekend. (and towing the Turismo I get more like 14-14.5 mpg)

I'll have feedback RE: ridiculous insurance surcharge, etc. if I get into Charlotte.

Terry...as BIGG likes to say, you can never put a price on a good time. Because of this, I've stopped kepping records.

I added up my expenses for the Gators and they totaled ZERO. So far, I feel pretty good about it.

Craig, the problem is that when you are not at the races you go buy a 90k Cadillac! You gotta factor that in..lol.

It was higher of course, but if u can't afford to go just stay home it's like having a 250,000 racing operation and asking how much fuel is???
