The wrap is to stop the wire from burning on the header........

I've heard a lot of positive feedback on the Firecore but havent had to buy a new set of wires yet. I do run the MSD wires. I like their adjustable boots and the fact that you can feel the click when they are on. It is nice that they are at National Events for support. Also they do pay contingency.

The Firecores have that positive click on the plugs also. The nice thing was I sent a e-mail to FireCore with the lengths and boot styles off of my old Moroso wires, and they shipped them to the door and they fit perfect.

My old wires were MSD 8.8. I sent them in to Custom Wire (Fire Core) and had a set made. They are very high quality...

The Fire Cores are not a bad wire, the service is lacking. MOROSO 40 are the best for $ and quality. When you think of how important wires are you should think about replacing them every 2 years especilly if you set the lash after every pass. MOROSO 40'S are about $60.00 and that's not much $ to spend to maintain performance. The same with plugs. After trying to sell Fire Cores, I took it upon myself to test wires and plugs. Wires increase with resistance over time ( 1-2 years). Plugs exhibit very fine fractures in the porcelain and leak current. A little prevention maintains the power that we strive to make.

My wires are Moroso w/wrap. They are at least 20 years old. How much do you think I will pick up performance wise with a new set?
