one of the the items you mite want to invest in a play back tach or a data logger that reads engine rpm and drive shaft speed ,this will give you the data needed to work on your combo and see where your rpm flash launch ,wheel speed ,or traction loss ,the way ihave my car set up is industrial roller bearing micro switch on the back side of the brake arm with good adjustabuilty ,,two step set at 3400 holding the car at 900 psi on the brake gauge ,smoothly roll into the gas until you foot is on the floor and release the brake ,and hang on ,,if you have a play back tach you can see where your converter peaks once it comes off the two step gmonde
