For any statistically challenged member of the audience, the reason the combo got horsepower in SS and not GT was because the run was -1.424 on SS/KA index of 11.55, it would have only been -1.374 on the GT/IA index of 11.50. Not to mention that that even though these are both 12 pound per horsepower classes he would have carried 35 pounds more to run GT/IA because of the ratings at the time.

Maybe you should build one, it might help keep the average down if it gets flagged for review.

Stephan Callender,
Interesting comment but you didnt refer to my question. I asked if the fact the current trend to factor is getting too specific regarding which body a motor is in or which trans is in it. Its almost like a yr limit would be closer to identifying boxy slower combo from later more aerodynamic ones intead of GT versus SS class cars.
Regarding our previous use of a 305, we used a carb model and were fortunate to run well. Thank you . I thank Ralph Truppi for most of our success.
The carb model is significantly different (higher) in factor from the FI model. as I'm sure you know.
Thanks

Stefan,
sorry, for the mis spelling. Nope just raising a Question on AHFS application being too limited today.

lowly stocker opinions

1. AHFS cannot and will not EVER work, it only reports results which are manipulated and therefore are bogus input...it has no ability to assess the potential of any combo

2. body / class / family specific adjustments are BULL****... if it runs in a camaro it will run in an impala wagon

3. dave layer can go as fast as he wants, his car, his money, his HP factor... who the hell are you clowns to BITCH about him ???

p.s. guess you guys would be happy if nhra said " 1985 yellow camaros saying Heads Up on the door" recieves additional HP ??????????

Hey Fred (Mr. I've won more races that you guys) Johnston - if you knew Dave Layer you'd know that he doesn't strut because he doesn't have to. And by the way - as I've said before - if your name isn't on the qualifying sheet - you opinion doesn't mean ****!!!
