Default Cambria “Bushwacks” them all at the Grove

Sorry I lost Saturday's ladder but, Joey Cambria beat Chris Garretson in the finals. Bill Hardifer and Jack Sepanek Jr. were the Semi-Finalist.

Maple Grove Raceway, Reading, Pa – The Mid Atlantic Super Comp Association completed it’s Third and Fourth races under clear and sunny skies on July 9th & 10th.
On Sunday, Cambria who was coming off his 1st MASCA victory on Saturday night and was looking to “Double-Up” with a victory on Sunday. Cambria started the morning out great with a perfect 8.900 to claim the #1 Qualifying position. Following Cambria was Kathy Smulligan, Jack Sepanek Jr, Jeff Livezey Jr and Joe Gallucci III.
As eliminations got underway Cambria found that magic again that propelled him to victory lane on Saturday night. Cambria received a bye-run in the 1st round, took out Lee Ream in the 2nd and in a close Semi-Final round got the best of Dave Long. Long had Joe on the tree (.015 to .024) but, Cambria was able to pull around Long at the stripe for a 8.913 to 8.926 victory and a trip to the finals.
On the other side of the ladder was points leader Tom Boyle and his “Boyle, Hoven & Smith” entry. Boyle started out his trip to the final with two hole-shot victories over Ash Senft and Jeff Livezey Jr. Boyle’s opponent in the semi’s would have been Chris Garretson but, unfortunately Garretson broke the Rear-End on his 2nd round Bye-Run handing the victory to Boyle.
So the finals were set with both drivers looking for their 2nd victory of the year as Boyle had claimed the Cecil County event. At the flash of the Green Boyle took a huge advantage (.007 to .024) over Cambria but, Boyle’s Ed Quay Dragster just missed the set-up and allowed Cambria to sneak bye for a 8.931 to 8.959 victory.
Tom Boyle will take the points lead into the next event over Cambria, Long, Livezey & Bill Hardifer. Next up for MASCA group will be a visit to Joe Sway’s Atco Racway on August 13th & 14th.
