Painted my old headers with outdoor grill paint and it lasted for years.....surprized me big time.

The Hi temp coating from Eastwood works well if the surface is blasted or thoroughly sanded.
Have a street car with it on for years,and still holding up.

Nitro Plate is ceramic correct? If it is, my header manufacturer stated that he will not repair my headers if they are coated with ceramic.

One thing that seems to help is just spray lightly, thin coat of paint will stay on better.

If they're made correctly the first time and you don't crash them thre coating will make them last a long time.
Airborne did mine 11 years ago and they still look great.The inside coating is holding up real well also.Maybe your header guy wants you to wear them out in a few years so he can make you another $et.:>):>)
