Last Modified Eliminator World Champ is still at it: Mike Edwards.

My memory ain't what it use to be but I thought that the Opel that the Patterson's raced was the former Wayne County Car.

And could this be the same car? The painted decals look the same.

Yes, Patterson did race the car.

The article on the link below gives a breakdown of the history of the car:

Three more you should know. Raymond Martin, Dick Maris and a guy named Warren Johnson. All still racing.

Yep, I still see Dick Maris. Has a Comp Dragster. Forgot about Raymond Martin. I was gone for several years. I recognized Dick when I first saw him again in Mike Edward's pits a few years ago. I honestly can't remember what Raymond looks like. Used to know him when I saw him at the track, just can't bring his face up. I know I've seen him at Div 4 races, just didn't know it. I was not aware Warren Johnson ever races Modified. First I remember him is in Pro Stock. Hmmm Learn something every day. :-)

Ed thankx for the complement concerning my father. He took a lot of pride in his cars back then and often says he wish he got into Super Stock but hated running Brackets and that’s what he thought it was turning into. Even to this day I’ll try and explain to him why I’m dialing the car a particular way and he just shakes his head and says “what’s the point of racing if you’re not going to drive it hard all the way through?” It kills him….. However; I’m trying to get him to come to the Cecil divisional with me this weekend so he can see Comp, SS and S qualifying. He’ll love that!
