I would think any superseded manifolds would be listed in the guide.If it isn't there you can't use it.
Don't know about the carbs.

This combo is proving to be a real pain in the *** lol. I've been at it for over a year and finding info or parts can be a challenge.. Best piece of advice I can give you is get a bunch of carbs because your going to need spare parts and every carb is a different animal. I'm on my 5th carb

If your interested, I think I have one of the intakes. I am traveling for work and can't confirm till next week, but I had purchased two different manifolds for my 70 swinger several years ago when I was considering running the 318 combo. One pn is the same as the 71. what is interesting is, one is a dual plane and one is a single plane intake. Don't know which would be best, but I can let you know what I have next weekend.
