Right. I don't think there will be a separate eliminator however.

![]() A,B,C and D/FX Isn't that really what they are???? Factory experimental??? Marketing or Performance based, they are still an experiment for the auto makers. Even at that the question remains..... "Do they really fit the criteria for any kind of factory produced, "Stock" automobile??? Welcome to the "new math" where 2 + 2 = 5

There are 2 sides to the story regarding "Stock" eliminator, those with older cars that "grew up" in stock eliminator, and those that embrace the new cars.
Bottom line, times change....either you stay up with the times or get left behind. NHRA has specific rules that allowed the manufacturers to build the new cars for stock. They are legal Glendora approved it . Now, as far as stock goes, I can cite a couple of things that you stock vets can't argue with; Can you fit a 9x30 tire on a 67 nova for example, without modifications that are not permitted under the rules? NO Did your cars come from the factory with hoods that have a 1" gap at the back? NO If you disagree with these 2 points, I can get really serious about your beloved older stockers. See you at the races, Wayne Kerr |

There really are 2 sides: work your ***** off is one. suddenly fast is the other.
Putting drag racing in the same shape as the economy. Instant gratification. Times are changing, that is for sure. But are they changing for the better or worse? Last edited by SS Engine Guy; 11-07-2011 at 01:23 AM. |

The people getting "left behind" are the ones buying the new combos and not having to flog them to go fast (not counting the Spikes, Bartons, etc, they get it). They remind me of the streetrodders that go to a fab shop, write a check, and want a red one that has all of the s##t in it that his Escalade does. Bottom line, times change.... but not always for the better.

Trying to convince my dad in maybe trading in some camaros for one of these. Not really happening. Maybe GM would do a COPO for COPO trade? ? ?

I personally saw this abomination at SEMA this past week and had a lengthy discussion with the reps from the performance and engineering dept. The car HAS a 9 inch in it and I asked does that mean Chevelles and old camaros get one? His reply was NO those are exclusive to the new cars. If we have a beef with it we are to take it up with NHRA. These cars are " NOT HIS PROBLEM" If we dont wanna get beat by them, buy one. They are purposely building these ringers to win. Suggested classes listed with the car were AA/ for the supercharged and A/ for the non. He also said that NO MONEY has changed hands between GM and NHRA to allow them in. The car is basically a superstock car let in to convince us to buy new cars. I also saw the V-10 apart with its CNC'd throttle body and parts. What a joke.
