NHRA doesn’t make any money on older cars. They could care less about a 1969 camaro in A/SA that gets killed week in and week out by new cars. It cost more time ,money and employee’s to police these older cars and the cheating that going on with them. The newer cars are way easier to police. NHRA wants SS/STK to be easier to control with less bit^hing. And to taking up less time on the track. STK and SS are just filler for the big show. You guys need to wake up. When NHRA goes to this three day format what do you think they’re going to cut out? Extra cars. They want to see 30-40 New CJ’s,DP and camaro’s because that what people in the auto industry are talking about. The old days are over, some of you just can’t seem to get it through you heads.

Ed NHRA could care less about what you think, you don't pay the bills. The 2500 plus fans that come to each national event and buy beer, food and t-shirts pay 80 plus % of the bills. And when they leave they don't bitc$ about hp or rules or call CA on monday. They just want to know the date for next years event.

That's exactly what I was thinking. They just went from 1960 or 1955. If they were to make a 1980 cut off they would be losing 80% or more of their cars. Which in this case, cars=$$$$. I call Bullsh!t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI Charlie,
As much as I like the new CJ's you better hope this is not true. Its going to be kind of hard to draw sponsors, increase payout or improve the class in anyway when you loose 80% of your entries. Other than Indy, how many 1980 and newer cars are at national events? Its going to be kind of hard to even support a class with 5-10 cars. Once again I call Bullsh!t!!!!!!!

NHRA dosent care.....They can just make up the difference with more .90 cars. Those guys are beating down the doors to get larger field quotas. NHRA wouldnt loose a thing if it happened. Just less work for them....less fuel checks, less weighing cars, less pain in the butt tear downs. Less crying and moaning. How is this "Bull hockey" to NHRA?
