My brother had one as early as 1970. A 69 Super Bee Orange Post car.
He ran 12.66 @ 110.97 at OCIR. Stock with small 1 5/8 Headers and 7" JC Penney Slicks.. .....Had a big 12 Inch conveter that stalled about 1500 RPM an was SLOW in 60. Car was a B of A repo and might not of had the original trans.or converter. He paid $ 1066. at a Repo Auction with no wheels or alternator but running. I have owned 3 A92 Roadrunner and a Superbee but first one was 73/74 that I bought from a Paul Caruso (sic). It set B/S National record @ 11.21 and 119.20 on 7 inch slicks as I recall. Does anyone have NHRA Records from back in those days. Also had a 70 ply RR Six pack that Abe Lobwen (sic) bought from me at 75 Winters. Last edited by GTX JOHN; 12-15-2011 at 04:26 AM. |
