Default 2008 CJ sold for 50k

I'm watching the Mecum auction and a 2008 CJ Mustang just sold for 50 k. Guess those folks who bought them for an investment struck out.

I have yet to see a CJ or DP sell at auction for anywhere near list price. Most of them on E-Bay don't get bid on at all.

Can't say I'm broken hearted about it.

An original COPO Camaro just sold for half-a-million! Maybe you have to wait 43 years before you sell these cars!

Get out and race them and you'll probably get more from the collector's!

The best deal of all was a 2007 Featherlite Stacker trailer that sold for $1 today.

How much did a 1969 camaro copo or a Bo29 cuda sell for in 1972? I think these cars are an investment you just will not see a return until 2040. As far as a short term investment they are a very bad idea. Unless you were the one that payed $50,000 for the 2008 CJ. I don't see those cars ever being worth less then $50,000.

This is just the most recent known sale of a CJ. The prices for these new cars have been dropping like a stone and they could certainly go lower. The new cars will probably drop to about 50% of their purchase price before hitting bottom. Sounds unthinkable, but that could eaisly happen if these rich folks stop buying them or decide to dump their "stock" and chase some other fad.

I believe that some people are just coming out from under the "ether" effect, about these cars. No titles or serial numbers that mean anything, and can you imagine the amount of "Clones" that will be around in the next few years!!

If a person wanted to make an investment that would pay off, just have them stick 50K in to gold, bonds or CD's, not only would they make you more more by 2040 (sic), its a lot safer than investing 80K in a car that can't do anything that different than a 30K car.

Yeah, I know they look cool!.....and I would love to have one, but it makes no sense to me.

If you have the money laying around its your choice, but it looks like the bottom is starting to fall out of the Hyper Hole.

Wow 2040!

How old will you be when you realize your investment ? LOL.
I know - know! A lot younger than me.

I would rather buy an original 68 cj if I was looking for an investment to appreciate.
