At the PRI show I was told they were going to take away the points penalty for running a combo class. And award the "little"points.
I've been checking their site and so far nothing looks changed. Anybody have any info on this? I'd like to know before I enter Gainesville?

NHRA setting the SS quota at 55 for Gainesville and Charlotte is probably due to the low turnouts last year. Only 41 Super Stockers last year at Gainesville (after the prior year's mud-bowl) but weather was great and looks like the D1 and D3 cars are seeking a winter hiatus as you might expect. Regardless, looks like Stock and Super Stock will be well attended at both Valdosta's Divisional the prior weekend and Gainesville this time around.

What was *not* taken into account when setting this years maximum numbers was the fact that this year class is being run in Stock and Super Stock! Class hasn't been run at the Gators for several years. The low maximum was a big mistake. Jim

I sent an e-mail to Rick Shaffer expressing the same issue and he told me the quota was set on last year attendance. I also told him that it was wrong to have such a lopsided quota between the sportsman classes. Rick did respond with a well writen e-mail but he is still missing the point. As it stands now there will only be 9 classes with multiple entries. The rest will be thrown into the combo's. To have a decent class show they need a minimum of 100 cars. This is one reason there is no contingency sponsors for class eliminator. Unfortunately I did not have enough grade points to get in the show this year.

For an outfit that has been cutting corners, asking personnel to take ruductions in pay ,and other concessions.Seems to me that they would be after every racer they could for entry at national events. 60 entrys @340=$20,400.00 with no crew money or money spent at the track.
