Beautiful weather this morning - it was 60 F track temp when we went down. Barometer not as good as yesterday morning, but the track really came around today. A lot of people picked up this morning in Stock - most by a hun or two. Not quite so many picked up in Superstock.
Abe Lowen broke his rear end right off the starting line today. I hate to see that for anyone....being towed by a four wheeler down the quarter mile stinks to high heaven! Ladder is up for us and we have a lot of C/SA cars on our side. Potenial third round heads up for us. And there could be a very interesting 2nd round heads up if both Calvert and Shaul get by..... |

Beth, if Calvert and Shaul both get through it won't be as close as you think. Calvert's is a under rated 428 (397 HP)Holbrook motored car. Thats 8 HP less than the 396-375 Aluminum head motor and makes at least 20 more hp than the best 396 motor in the country.
Dont you remember this? 154 Anthony Fetch 1499 Jim Boudreau E3 ****WINNER**** 0.093 10.181 113.73 0.045 10.412 121.10 B/SA Dial: 11.25 (+/-): -1.069 B/SA Dial: 11.25 (+/-): -0.838 Prior rounds: E2 (P Downing ) 0.044 10.311 0.131 (L Smith ) 0.002 10.607 0.167 E1 (K Stubbs ) 0.082 10.252 -0.998 (M Truman ) 0.020 10.418 0.018 Qualified: #11 10.164 -1.086 #59 10.365 -0.885 Heads-up! The wheelstand was almost too impressive. We actually lost a hun in the 60 foot time because of it, but more than made up for it on the other end.
They are finishing up with the pros soon. We will be running our first round..... Air right now is worse than yesterday's afternoon run. Barometer is 28.95, 77.7 degrees, 26% humidity and 2532 feet DA. Wind is picking up and turning into a headwind again. Dialing will be fun! |

Thanks, Jason!
I am going through my photos and trying to get them loaded together. Superstock from half track, stock from the starting line....I don't take photos during elims (superstitious about that) |

Bits of blue are trying to break through the clouds, and the sun is trying to force it's way through. The drizzle has quit, so there is hope. Haven't heard what the new plan is though.
At this rate, they will probably pull the plug on sportsmen this morning as the original schedule said pro stock out at 11 am, and they will be lucky to be ready to run by 11 am if it stays dry. Its very cool out, humid. Will be hard to get the track dry. But....they may want to run the stockers to finish drying the track and to put some heat in it for the pros. ![]() |
