The one sad thing. I use to take my daughter with me and stopped a few years ago. Because, she got older and the racing bug never really bit her. But this morning she asked me if she could go. "Like old times", she said. Now I know that apart of it was that I think she wanted to get out of school today and play hooky with old dad. But I would have done it in a heart beat. The only thing that stopped me. The prices at the gate. Now that SUCKS! Thanks NHRA!!!! Well I am OFF. Be there in a half hour. ![]() |

If it makes you feel any better, there is a World of Wheels Car Show in the Chicago area next week. http://autorama.com/shows/attend/chicago-2012# Parking is outrageous, and they want $18 general admission to look at some cars. $30 for a day of Sportsman racing is a steal compared to $18 for a few hours of looking at some cars in a show. Enjoy your day at the races and at least you don't have to shovel snow! |

Sounds like I would be buying my pit help spectator passes instead. Why the hell can a spectator get in for $30 while a crew member has to pay $60? That is ridiculous ....

Phillip, it is 30.00 per day per person, two day race for a crew guy 60.00!! No difference just a crew guy will be there for two days? This kicker is it is two, two day races so that's 4 days at 30.00 or 120.00 a guy for a crew member. Kinda steep.

$30.00 clams for a divisional is a complete joke and a major rip off.

Nothing like taking advantage of a captive audience and your fans! The food wasn't cheap either, chicken tenders no fries was $6.50. With fries was $10.50.

Well will it make any of you happy that I pulled one over on the old NHRA today?
Believe me this was not intentional. I kind of "Forst Gumped" my way into this. But I ended up not only parking for free. I also got in for free. Do not know how it happened. But it just did. I really enjoyed myself. The day was beautiful and the racing was great. So me and the other 7 people in the stands had one hell of a show today. Thanks to all of you guys that were racing today at Firebird. ![]() ![]()

I'll bet your daughter is happy for you! Not only did you get a paid day off work, the parking and racing was free.
