X2 on what Paul said, for the big hole I cut a filler piece the same thickness as the bracket welded it in and cut a thicker cover plate and welded that in. On the other side with the recess in it I put a filler piece in and than put a similar cover plate over that. As a note the car was on a rotisserie at this point and I welded the crap out of all the seams in this area, the car has not been run this way yet but it looks bomb proof. This car was bracket raced since before dirt and never had the issue described, the modification is just eliminating weak links is all. hope this helps.
