Well i guess everyone has seen the first round of qualifying, yep wow. I was in the staging lanes when I heard Alan give Don's numbers, he likes going fast and man does he.

It was very fast for the first run.
Temp 51
bar 29.57
humid 585
DA 270 ft
no wind

This is Robbie Hudlow's run. I could not get a good camera placement, I guess its better than nothing.

Wow...just less than eleven years since Bobby DeArmond's 9.99 at Mission, now we're more than a second quicker and 24 mph faster.

Don - Congratulations from everybody at Ford Racing. We figured a Cobra Jet would be the first Stocker in the 8's - it was just a matter of who and when.

Way to go Don!!! I always liked how you ran your car, it is only fitting that you would be the first official run in the 8's.

166 I believe. Fastest run by a traditional (non-Modified type) S/S.

We final got to run, stock was the last class to run. I think we finished up about 9:30. I was about four slower, but some did pick. Hudlow picked up a bunch, and took over the number one spot, getting the bye for first round.

The weather is supposed to be the same for tomorrow mornings first round as it was today. We are out first at 8 am followed but super gas and then first round class for super stock.
