What's the best way to get to the track coming north? My current route is to turn west at Nashville on I-24, then I-69, to Paducah then I-57 to the track. It seems a bit shorter to go up I-65 through Indiana, but I've heard bad road quality stories on that stretch, particularly Indy to Hammond, thru Chicagoland.

If I come up I-57, I've heard you want to turn off 12 miles before the track and access it on some state/county road. Where would that exit be?

Finally, any general track conditions information (prevailing winds, lane to lane differences) for a SLOW small tire Super Street car would be helpful. Getting ready for the Allstars next month and can't have too much information to help me race all these rocket ships from other Divisions.

I believe the exit you would take is Arsenel Rd exit. Take it east. I don't think that weight is a big concern as when I take it, it has MANY large trucks already on it. It connects to the old rt 66 or the road that the track is on. You will be just a couple mile south of the track. Someone may want to put some more names on those for me and advise if any construction is any where on those. Last time I was there they were on the exit only, but I-80 was a cluster.

NOTE: I got my Interstates mixed up, this is a good way from I-55 NOT I-57.

The track runs from the west to the east and north south winds can get "strange" past the grandstands, I have heard. I love the facility and the layout and would love to go more often. Good luck on your trip and the race.

Coming NORTH on I57 ya want to get off at EXIT 339 Sauk Trail----turn right or WEST at the bottom of the ramp stay on Sauk Trail it eventually turns into LARRAWAY ROAD---- continue WEST til you see the NASCAR track on your LEFT or South-----the first light/major intersection after the NASCAR track is HWY 53-----it is a 4 lane divided road-----TURN LEFT or SOUTH---approximately 1/2 mile SWEITZER ROAD will be on the LEFT/EAST---turn LEFT you will be on the NORTH side of the DRAGSTRIP---go east about a short mile FIRST FARM ya come to is going to be just PAST the gate most BRACKET cars enter this gate---not sure what NHRA told ya to do os follow their directions there are 2 gates to get into the track --otherwise if you are to go to the OTHER gate you will continue on HWY 53 SOUTH past the DRAGSTRIP about a 1/4 mile to the main contestant/racer gate enter there----just for the record HWY 53 and 57 run basically north & south---Larraway and Sweitzer roads go east and west the dragstrip is on the EAST side of HWY 53 at the SE corner of Sweitzer rd & HWY 53--- any problems PM me--FED387

Alot of racers who come from the south on I57 get off at exit 327 at Peotone Il.then take 53 that runs in front of the track to Laraway.

FED 387 directions are the best. rt 53 from peotone rd to the track UNDER CONSTRUCTION . do not use unless you like parking lots

they usually stack us up in the nascar track so keep a look out for signs when you get close to the track.
