Default Holley Carb Question

What is that "flapper" for on the primary bowl?

Well it's a vent but I'm not sure why it's there since they also have a vent tube. I'm thinking it's there in case of a overflow issue the engine wont hydraulic, Much better to have gasoline pouring all over the hot engine.lol

Ford production carb had these Boss 302's Boss 429's it was for hot fuel issues so fuel wouldn't perc in the prim bowl help on hot starts when throttle was closed it was open and when you tipped into throttle it closed.

You can see it is on a Ford look at Ford fuel filter on inlet it is on the drivers side and it has a Ford style dash pot on throttle lever.

Most of the OEM chevy performance engines had this same setup.
