Thanks for the clarification on the diesel engine, Dennis. The rail stopped on the return road, right in front of where we were pitted and it looked like a cummins to us. The car had a belly pan, that looked like it might hold a gallon. It also looked like the pan expanded so much that the belly pan came off while the car was still on the track. We saw a crew member go over and pick it up, a long way from where the car stopped on the return road.

Well Chris beat us by .005. That's just racing. Hopefully we will get him next time. I will get back with a little more later after we get loaded up and headed home.

Well we are back home safe and sound! Now we get to clean up the motorhome so it will be ready to go back to Joliet in a couple of weeks and then on to Norwalk!
I am getting horrible with names, but I want to thank the Super Street and Gas racers with the John Deere hat that are friends with Nitro Joe's parents for the bottle of wine. I am sure we will enjoy it soon! I am sorry I don't remember your names. I am going to have to start writing things down! Well all in all it was a very pleasant trip to Joliet. It was hot, but as long as you had shade, the breeze made it plenty bearable. Hopefully the weather will be as nice in a couple of weeks for the National event. And hopefully there won't be as many bad oildowns and crashes. Just glad nobody got hurt in the messes. We will be back "Live" in a couple of weeks, but this next weekend and following week is just for the family in Disney World. (But I may have to post a pic or two from there!) More later! Patsy |
