The qualifying sheet tells me that. Judging others is easy when you don't race.

Well here it is another steamy hot day in Joliet! 81 already, but only going up to 92 today. 10 degrees should make a lot of difference. Super Street is out 1st at 9 with 1st round, then stock. We only have one round today, then 2 in the morning. Heard a funny story about someone looking for someone yesterday and a person who knew where he was said--"No, no you don't want to go in there. He is laying on the floor of his motorhome in his underwear!" Anything to cool off!!
Well more later! |

It looked like something was wrong with Charlie Bob's car and he was hoping for a red-light in the other lane. After that didn't happen, he just cruised down the track. We had a better light this morning, but the car wouldn't run the number. Randy Sheperd broke something.

We are down for severe thunderstorms. It is black outside. It is calling for 60 mph winds, quarter size hail and it has just started raining. NHRA gave us all warnings in time for everyone to get their awnings in and race cars puts up! Thank you! Hopefully this will pass over and we will be back to racing shortly.

Here are some pics taken from the finish line during the 1st round of Super Stock. As you can see, we aren't very good at this. You will have to figure out who it is!

Love your pictures Patsy, looks like a series of "Where's Waldo?" or should I say "Where's WALLY?" HA! I'm enjoying mild 80 degrees and pleasant mountain breezes here at the farm in Vermont. About to pour a glass of wine and sit by the pool. You and Larry should stop by!

They have been back on the track for a while now. Pro round one should be coming up soon. There are still showers in the area, and it looks a little dark to the north, we might get another shower or two soon. Much better temps than yesterday but much more humid now.

Karen, Vermont is not on our schedule for this year, but who knows for next year?? Is Epping close??
The pros are running their 2nd round now. Looks like we might get another storm in the night tonight. The temp is down to 81 and it feels a lot better out there. A comment about the drug testing going on here. First of all, I think it is a good thing that they are testing. But these people need to use some common sense! This morning during the first round of eliminations they were in the lanes handing out their paperwork for testing. And you have to sign whenever they give you the papers. Judi Bureski already had her helmet on, the engine running and pulling up under the tower whenever these people approached her. She had to roll down the window, take off her helmet, listen to their speil, then sign as she is just a couple of cars back from running the first round. She ended up with a -.116 red light. I am sure everyone has their procedures they go thru when getting ready to race, and this was bound to throw you off. Anyway, someone needs to just use some common sense about when to give out the tests!! |
