A Super Stock engine, as applied to this forum, has rules which are mandated by either NHRA or IHRA. Briefly, a SS engine will have to match a year and body claimed and must include factory spec valve sizes, piston dome configuration and carburetor(s). You can have a replacement intake manifold but it must configure to factory (i.e., if it came with a single quadra-jet it must have a single carb intake manifold under a spec quadra-jet. If it came with 2 4bbl carbs it must have 2 4bbl carbs inline or off-set like factory installed). The race organization also specifies the volume of certain parts like intake / exhaust runners and combustion chambers. In a nutshell, that says what you are proposing is a Bracket or maybe Super Gas or Super Street type engine. But definitely not a traditional Super Stock engine.
Good luck and have fun.

If you racall a few years back when they started the leave a class out at the national events Dan Fletcher did rather well with his legal S/S car in supergas. So you could infact do what he is saying just not with the parts he listed.

I have a old Car Craft mag from the '90's and there was a similar year Monte with the same kind of motor. He was doing some sort of class racing but it might have been a specialized catagory..Anyways, I figure a lot of convert&gear with this combo hooking up would be interesting as well..

Yep, it is Luskville! It is close (it's only like 30 miles from my house)..

I found the article it is from Car Craft of January 1997 the classification appears to be SS/FA. The guys name is Bryan Broaddus (he is from Yorba Linda California). The car (1970 Monte) still has to cofirm to a certain things (iron heads, no combustion chamber mods, lower compression, 780 carb, but the cam can be huge 287-288@0.050)
He uses (or used to article is 15 years old ) ladder bars, 6.0 gears, 5500 stall..It runs in the 10.30's...
