How about this popular argument that's used when people bring up rule changes?: You knew what the rules were when you built your car. If you want to run with the autos, put an auto in the car.
You know there are some people who put sticks in their cars to get away from heads-up races. -Toby |

I'd love nothing more that to run all those fast D/SA cars heads up. I've been saying that as long as I've raced Stock (1994).
By the way...I just received a PM from one of the new car race reps. It wouldn't be polite for me to mention who as it was a private message. But it was either COPO, CJ or Drag Pack. He said he was all for combining sticks and autos and eliminating the combo races.

one of the biggest reasons for running stock is the CHANCE you may get a heads-up run. i'm sure NOT gonna hide from one just to win...

First off I respect all the stick racers, heck the ones I'm at the track with are stick guys and they love it. I personally choose to race a automatic and I love it does that make me less of a man? I received my man card in the US marines in 1994 and I still carry that card with me daily if you all think because what you choose to do or drive at the track makes you a man then that's fine, but if you want to see some real life scares that came with my man card stop by and check mine out sometime...... I'm all for combining sticks and autos if we make it a level playing field with the same hp ratings for them both....is that what you want.

I think you are taking that joke to seriously. First of all, thank you for your service to our great country.
Second, nobody is trying to draw a parallel between real word danger and sacrifice, and driving a race car. Please don't take it anyway other than some harmless ribbing. Combine the Sticks and auto with the current factored HP. The automatic technology is so far advanced, plus having the performance advantage of radial drag slicks. Something that stick cars don't run. Quote:
