The Hurley family (dad Steve and daughter Shelby) from southern Maryland (not from from the track at Delmar Del) have a P/SA '55 they've ran for a few years, at some IHRA races and my S/SS races. One of the few I can think of.

Carl was out here in Seattle for the nationals or divisional-can't remeber which- but could only come within about a half second of the index. beautiful 55 chev but the old hp. rating does'nt work so my 57 will remain a street car until nhra pulls their head out from wherever it's at! Carl is from Boise.

How about a Ford combo for 1958? I know where a Fairlane 2 door hardtop is sitting under a lean-to. Being a Chevy guy, I'm not up on any particulars from that era,, perhaps a 292 or a 312,,, McCulloch blower?,,, just thinking out loud.

They only had the blown engine in '57, Danny. More doors were fast, too; this one was a national record holder. That's Parham and Payne from Skiatook, Oklahoma at the World Finals in Tulsa, 1967. I think it ran mid-13's with a 3-speed Ford-O-Matic.

Thanks for the info, Bill. I remember seeing photos of that '57 Ford in someones online album. It'd be interesting to see how that blown combo would run with todays modern stock eliminator enhancing performed on it.

I've seen Downards car, it is beautiful but about a tenth over the O/S index.

There was a 57 Thunderbird there running C/SA with that same type supercharger setup. I watched him leave the line from an idle and run 13-flat. That was pretty fast in 1967.

I think it was from Ohio.
