We had a great time at the reunion! I am glad we attended! We saw some great cars and dad talked to many old friends. Maybe we will be able to take our car in the future. It is a great event!!!!

There were cars there that have been in previous years; however, there were cars and drivers who have never been there before and some which more than likely will never appear again. I arrived down town at 5:15 am on Saturday and the lot was already filling with cars. At about 1;30 pm we were watching the Spectator crowd and I commented I would like to get paid one nickel for every photograph that was taken of the Stock Super Stock/Pro Stock cars on the street Saturday. It was incredible to see all those cars in one place. There were 5 Motown Missle cars on the property, including on that was on a rotisery. 5 men lifted this car body off of a trailer and attached it to the display frame. Caution was "don't lift it by the fenders"

I had the occasion to be called to the Event Registration Table several times during the event by some very nice people who had read my posts and came to the event.

Classracer was well represented by a Station Wagon with a "Classracer" decal on the front fender. I will post some photos as soon a I have them downloaded.
Chris ,sorry i missed you too... i walked that street several miles...Saw a lot of old friends and race cars that brought back many good memories ,,I do appreciate this show and re-union ..Maybe next year i can bring my ole MOSER hot rod ( 70 camaro ) to display..I noticed there was only "one " 70 (70-73) camaro classic car on the property.. This may be a sign of another rare car to purchase.. So much to look at.. I posted some pics on facebook via my phone .(don't know how to put them here with my phone (wish i did)...The croud was awsome as well as trhe cars and people....

Danny, I'm glad you came and that you had a good time. I wish I had seen you and got to talk with you. Do you think it was as I had described it? I had this wagon parked on the street and never got to meet the Owner.

I'm also sorry that we didn't get more of a chance to talk on Saturday! The show was AMAZING! Upwards of 1500 cars on display on about a 3/4 mile stretch of Garnett Street was a feast for the eyes and soul! I can't thank you enough for your allowing me the privilege of parking with the feature cars at the show. It was the "Best Spot in Town"! I was parked next to Dave and Susie Koffel and had the rare opportunity to spend most of the day reminiscing with one of my all-time hero's, Becky White! I saw so many old friends and made so many new one's that I lost count. I just wished that Saturday had gone on FOREVER!

I really think my Class Racer decal and because I was wearing my Class Racer black T-shirt made a big impression. I won the Doorslammer Drag Car Class!

Thank you again for a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience!

Lew

Lew I am glad to hear that you had a good time and won that Plaque. Plaques from the Reunion show are most people's prized trophy. I am sorry I did not get to talk with you about the history of that car. Since I happen to be one of the "old rats" in the drag racing barn, I have been working with parking the drag race cars both historic and current, since the first show. My memory seems to slip a little with the class racer cars since my experience with class racing is back almost 50 years ago but that wagon just seem to me to represent the history of class racing. There are so many historic drag race cars here in our area and they just don't seem to want to come out to the event, you know how it is just don't want to miss a pretty day to race. To all of us wearing the reunion name tags, this reunion is our time to remember how class racing was and how class racing evolved to SuperStock and Pro Stock. The days of match racing is what many of us remember during this reunion.

Again, glad you came and had a good time. 12th Annual East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame Reunion the 3rd week-end in October 2013. Plan to come for all three days.

Congratulations Lew, for someone that "just wandered" into the event, you did rather well. Glad that I was able to spend a few minutes with you and catch up on what you've been up to the last couple of decades. Regards, Chase

Thank you, Chase! Congratulations on your Lifetime Achievement Award. Being able to spend some time with you, Becky and the Koffel's was a wonderful experience I will never forget! I have many great memories of my time maturing in South Florida, and drag racing was a big part of my life there. The years seem to melt away when I get a chance to remember it all! I hope to be able to see you at the PRI.

Thanks again!

Lew

Lew, the chance to see old friends and share the memories is what makes this event. I have been there every year since the beginning. Every year i have someone there that I haven't seen in many years. I have a walkie talkie to keep up with the cars coming in from the trailer lot, but it's also good for someone to contact me. I'm glad that members here came to the event and hope you and others will attend next year.
