Anyone planning to put in a 3-speed in place of their 2-speed?

Or how about a 2-speed in place of a 3-speed?

Its all legal in Stock and S/S according to the 2013 rules. Imagine a Ford 427 Thunderbolt with a C2 trans or SS/AH Mopar with a 2-speed from a Drag-pac. Then there is the LS1 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette package with a Powerglide. That weak Metric 200 and the C4 will be a thing of the past.

I would be more interested in the 350/327/283/265's that can now have T200's. Imagine what Wade Owen's can do with a extra gear and the rotating weight of a PG? What about Billy Nees's 6cyl Nova with a T200 etc. Those cars are very quick to start with, now this...Crazy...Unreal Crazy.

Don't have a 2 speed, but it might be tempting to put my ultra comfy Saturday night fever red velvet Van seats(same as 68 SS/AH) in the gremlin for those long 4 plus second waits down at the stripe waiting on the lo 10 second A/SA's......or 5 plus for a cobrajet.

On the contrary, a well built 3-Speed auto will be faster than a 2-Speed.
Why do you think so many in other classes, including Comp Eliminator, have switched from a Powerglide to a 3-Speed?

Wait until the Durhams and others put a 3-Speed in their cars.

What are you stupid? Have you watched any kind of class racing in the last 10 years?
Why does a prostock run a 5 speed and not a 4 speed, or even a 3 speed.

That is why nobody runs a PG in comp anymore.

If you build or buy a very good lightweight 3 speed " PRO TRANS or, METRIC 200 " It is going to out perform just about any powerglide. A T400 or a T350 will not be as fast. Its about rotating weight. If you ad a gear to a transmission with almost the same rotating weight, it should make a car run quicker.

Nothing old is going to outrun the brand new race cars. But maybe this will breathe new life into some of the old combo's. I'd love to see a 68 350 Camaro with a good 3 spped in it rated at 286 HP. Should be fun...

Hey, how about a little respect for Mr. Smith...he's one of the good guys on here!

Think he asked a legitimate question...believe he's implying that not ALL are seeing
improvements right away with the PG to 3-spd swap...more work is needed than
just changing transmissions....

Me? I'm staying with the PG in my Super Stock Chevelle...know I'm in the 1% that
thinks that the transmission rule should have been etched in STONE and NEVER
CHANGED from before....besides I don't have the $$$ to keep up with you boys in
the "Enhancement of the Week Club".....LOL!!!!!!

Don't get me going on the 1991 "vote" that changed the way on SS cylinder heads!

If only "Farmer" could see us NOW!
