This is one for the older guys. I am running in Stock on a very limited budgit, for now. I am using parts from an older Stock motor,255 HP 350 Chevy,H/SA 69 Camaro. The Cam is the older Cam Dynamics cam, for Stock, from the mid to late 80's, maybe the early 90's. Anybody ever run this Cam? Just curious, I have no # to refer to but Dave LaBrun bult this motor back around 1991. I am hopeing maybe "Lil WJ" might remember this cam. How does this cam like to be installed? Straight-up, advanced or retarded? I am running it with a metric-200 with 5.14 gears. I think, or hope Lil WJ is the great Woodro Josey...Tim Barrett H/SA 1925

Tim we had several Cam Dynamics cams that ran really well, do you know the Centerline on that particular cam that you have and@.050 numbers were stamped on the end of the cam on a few of them and some had the Lobe Design Numbers!
They were all pretty good cams though, real torque cams! The 106 cams were put in at 104 and the 108 cams at 106!

I may be the "rookie" Stocker here...
but what a COINCIDENCE ! My only other experience with Stock, was 26 years ago, with a 300HP 327 / stick, and THAT camshaft ! I had 1 3/4" , 26" length hooker headers, 5.57 gears. Ran the cam 4 degrees retarded, but I think that would be a "stick-only" idea. BTW... the car was a Canadian Pontiac... 63 Parisienne 2dr HT... weighed around 3600.

What an honor Woodro!!!! I have watched, and read alot about you. Hope some day I might get to meet you in person. But anyway I dont have any #'s from the cam. It had numbers on the front, but they didnt make sense to me. I didnt get any info from my engine builder. Just that it was a set-up that Tony Mellow ran back when .6 or .7 under the index was fast. I just changed the cam timeing from 4 degrees advanced to straight up. I am running a metric 200 now from a turbo 350, so I am curious how it will run with the 200. I know the the modern day cams are probably way better than this one,,,BUT,,, sometimes one can make something run with the older stuff. I am doing my own engines now and am haveing alot of fun, even they dont run to fast,.3 to .4 under the index. Guess all engine builders start some where.. Thanks again for the info,,Tim Barrett H/SA 1925
