Cruiser, 1972 Olds Delta 88 2r. Royale 455 C.I. SS/RA 4700 plus lbs., tubbed , Dana 60 with 5.57 and Firestone 14/32 on Cragar super tricks. 1975 NHRA record holder 1/4 and 1/8. We built this car in late 74 and raced it in 75. This was the first year of two that we raced off the index with the first car to the stripe the winner without any breakout. There is a long story about this car involving Dale Smith, Oldsmobile and fellow racers. Some of it interesting some unpleasant but all fact. I don't want to go into the unpleasant part at this time but will be happy to share the rest with you. I'll see if I can dig up some photos. This car was dismantled and crushed in 1977.

Sammy,
Here is a picture of one of the 72 white Fornof cars (in what looked like the staging lanes) rear ended by a late 50s or early 60s vette? Was that your black car or the other Fornof car later destroyed in an accident? I know you already stated that the color picture below is not the same car as your black car and that car was later destroyed in an accident. Thanks ![]()

I didnt know it was an SX. I did notice the 71 molding along the bottom and at least thought it was converted from a 71 to a 72.

Ironic how the race cars are often the ones best preserved.
