They're making bracket racing look better all the time...beginning to think that local tracks need support more than NHRA. Funding the JFR/DSR jaggernaut isn't particularly what I had in mind when I started class racing.

I guess I missed the "press release". Apparently, the only way one is notified of the increase in entry fee is when one actually attempts to enter? I think I find that more insulting than the increase itself! My contempt for nearly every aspect of society grows by the minute...

It is not a beloved NHRA race - it is one of those awful bracket races
No heads up - OMG
No class racing - OMG
Just what we normally do without the dreaded AHFS, fuel check, weighing and NHRA with a hand out

I am sure there are plenty of well and good reasons not to go but not for us

We will be there (Bakersfield)

Two races $2500 to win (E and no E brackets both days)
$225 For Car/Driver and 10 Crew/Spectator
Pre-Entries Get A Free T-Shirt

Why would they announce an increase to the customer? You don't see the food store announcing it when milk or bread or eggs or chicken or other products go up in price, nor do you see the airlines making an announcement when tickets cost more.

Good point Evan .........Plus they 'only' raised it 1.6% - $ 5 bucks - I'd worry more about how much diesel is going to cost us this year .

A food store? lol.

This outfit is supposedly a not for profit organization. They claim it was organized for the benefit of its members. It is not meant to operate like a food store. Of course nhra has gotten away with all sorts BS over the years, but it would not be very difficult to imagine that a legitimate organization would broadcast advance notification of cost increases.

BTW airlines regularly broadcast rate fluctuations.

From looking at other big dollor bracket races I don't think the gates will be flooded. Most races I have seen with a 2500 dollar payout have a much lower entry fee.

Good luck at the race.
