Default Re: TRAILER TIRES !!

The goodyear marathons will work for the rating on them, but YOU GOTTA PUT A LOT OF AIR IN THEM.

Ran my 24' pace across the desert in July 2001 on marathons 115 plus temps and no problems. 8400 miles 3 1/2 weeks, use at least 60 if not 70 lbs. pressure.

These tires are not for use on overloaded trailers, my trailer was around 8-9000 for that trip.

I think on any application you are always better to use at least the sidewall pressure if not 5-10 more.

Wore out 2 sets of marathons in 8 years on that trailer with no failures.

In 2002 i bought a new 26' goldrush and it has goodyear g 159 tires which have been flawless, but my trailer only weighs 8-9000 lbs loaded.
