The last photo, although I'm not sure, could possibly be Jim's white Superstock Fairlane, at Seattle, that was run before he turned to Stock Eliminator. If you know otherwise, please let me know. Yeah,, we can compare photos,, I've got a few of old Mission Raceway, on the edge of town, before the "unexpected break" took place. Danny Durham Last edited by Geerhead55; 01-31-2013 at 12:52 AM. |

Danny, the white Fairlane may well be Jim Waldos, I never did see the car when Waldo owned it, but I did watch it race after Dennis Miller from Oregon bought it. I have no idea where the Fairlane went after Miller sold it. After the Fairlane, Miller raced a Pro Stockish Pinto or Mustang 11 with a Hi Port head 351C with a tunnel ram and Lenco, in Super Comp.

I think all the ones I could answer have already been answered, but I do recall a few other names from the early days around here. My Vega was originally built to run Pro Stock in the 70's but never completed, it was purchased by Don Cliver who had been running Pro Gas with a '68 Camaro. Don ended up briefly running a 2 car team in the early days of Super-Gas (Camaro & Vega), then quit racing and put both cars up for sale. He sold the Vega turn key to a guy who had just won the Oregon Lottery. That guy raced it for a while then blew up the engine, came back and bought the Camaro turn key, trading in the blown up Vega towards it. I came along and bought the Vega as a roller, but ended up buying a bunch of parts from the prior engine and trans. Once the lottery guy ran out of money he sold the Camaro. Not sure if he was the very next owner, but it now belongs to Dennis Robinson and still races S/G.
