Congrats to the Holbrook Clan, hard work does pay off, Class group. Ok now NHRA please run AA/EX (Experimental)class only. The only car safe to run against them will be Bob Bender's great Big & heavy beautiful wagon. Forget Super Comp, they could compete in Comp. Isn't that close to 950hp to move that much weight. Again, this isn't New car bashing, just surprise on how fast they're approaching the 7's.Claude

Like stated all the really fast CJs have been gone over. Ford/Ford Racing built and engineered one heck of a car! The racers took a product that went to 10 and made it go to 11(SpinalTap) Chris certainly is one of those guys and he's great to talk to.
So there are 10+ stocker CJs in the 8s, when will there be another manufacture in the 8s in Stock Eliminator? This time is comparable to the COPOs in SS which I think the quicker ones have been 8.6s@160(Heck it's not far from the SS CJs for that matter! 8.2s@165)? And wow look at that 1/8mile MPH.

Bret thanks for the Thread, like usual your insights on always appreciated, I didn't want to guess since I didn't have the weight and wind condition so I stayed on the safe side. What would you estimate the real HP. Again the Holbrook group have been really on the leading edge of the envelope with those engines. Great Thread. By the way is a Mustang replacing the Corvette or is it a Grand Marquis in your racing stable. Claude

1320 / MPH = optimum ET 1320 / 160.58 = 8.22 ET 8.30's should be no problem.

I'll let Chris release that info; it's just not my place to say. The Grand Marquis got a runner-up last weekend so I think I'll keep it for a while. I pulled off a "personal challenge" by running timed trials at one track, driving to another track for test runs and then returning to the original track for eliminations...and made it to the final. |

Congratulations on making the fastest Mustang.(at this time) very hard work and satisfying results.
Obviously the fact it is getting closer to 7 second range is more a function of what NHRA has allowed to be called Stock/SuperStock. The question is what Modified type car or Comp type car a factory can sneak under the tent in Stock and SuperStock next with NHRA approval. |
