Default C3 corvette solid rear NHRA leaga questions

i dont want a toms diff, lets just get that out first. yes they work but that isnt what i want.

i am looking for info on the approved way of mounting the factory trailing arms to a solid rear and if there is a top mount used or allowed. i am not going to be running in stock and the ET im after the toms stuff wont live but i still need stock rear suspention. i can do the work myself as i have the use of a chassis shop.

i have read to page 60 in this forum looking for info and i have only found one post for a C4 corvette, that tech director's name that was named i will search out to see if he might have insite on the C3 cars as well.

thanks for any help you can offer.

If your not running stock you could just put a 4 link with coil overs or ladder bars with coil overs and get rid of the transverse
The factory trailing arms are not the strongest either
There are a few aftermarket trailing arms out there that are nice, Global west for one if you are going to stick to trailing arms

If you trying to run something legal in stock then that's different
I am just building a stock legal diff for my now
A few people on this site were nice enough to show me what they had done in building a stock legal one

Contact Alf Wiebe. If he will make trailing arms and spring seats for you THAT is the way to go. He built my C-3 (Fred) complete but the trailing arms and the spring setup is the tricky part.

Don't know where you live but Jimmy Parker has set up a lot of fast vettes down here in the south. He's on the forum.

If your not running stock why do you care about their rules ? If your running with a different group I'd get in touch with them directly , try to get them to put it on paper, or did they tell you whatever ?HRA allows ?
It's my understanding you have to use a transverse rear leaf spring . No heim joints on the lower arms and your supposed to use the stock frame mounting points. When you make your new control arms they have to be "accepted"
