That is not really true unless you get to the final.Losing in the fifth round of a Division race costs you more money than losing in the first round.

One time a guy asked me how much money I have into racing?
I thought a while and, my answer was,... ALL OF IT!

I wonder how much a pound fish costs a hardcore fisherman / woman?

I would say my cost is around $75-$100 per run all in. Give or take.
I'm no accountant but at least we have SOMETHING to sell when we are done, unlike a dirt track car.

2004-2011...$0 (sponsor covered tab), 2012 first year in superstock...$1250.00 per run (85runs) including sponsorship $. 2013...$ ?

Playing beer pong with Johnnie Walker Blue does not help the cost per run @ $40 a shot!
lol.

Way to go Bo, I thought I was depressed about the Gators, but now you bring this up. I tried not to do any calculations, but could not resist.

I am really depressed now, thanks.

Cool Re: What your cost per run down the track

One time at Pomona, we were hanging out at a racer's trailer, the subject of money came up,(and these were very successful racers),and one of them said,"Some people tell me they do this for fun.I do it for money. That's what I'm interested in". I wanted to ask him if we were talking about the same sport.

My actual costs are very low, it is the food and beverage department that is the problem. Like "The Don" says. I go to a party and a drag race breaks out.
One of the larger expenses is race fuel which is only good for a week or so according to fuel check, at $11.25 / gal, good thing I get 2.5 runs / gal.

Actual Bo, I am not depressed anymore. I just told my boating friend about this cost calculation. Now he is depressed. Not me, I am looking forward to racing at the gators next year. I like staring directly into the sun at 8:00AM and racing

I'm with you, I don't keep receipts or any numbers scribbled down or any other evidence laying around.
