Default Lost Drag Strips Book

Received a great book for my b-day called "Lost Dragstrips" Ghosts of Quarter-Miles Past.

Author: Tommy Lee Byrd . Great old photos/ history of many old tracks and cars.

Here's a listing of tracks as listed in the book.
Lions/OCIR/RIverside/Bee Line/Motion/Motor City/Oswego/US 30/Dover/Pittsburg/Connecticut/Pocono Drag Lodge/Lakeland/Green Valley/Dallas International/Hudson/Shuffletown/Brainerd Optimist Club/Dragstrip/ Paradise/Double H/Southeastern International/Smithsville/Lloyds/Harriman/Green Valley Raceway Dragstrip/ Drag City/Loudon Raceway

Good memories!

Have fun!

Back in the late 60s me and my buddies used to ride our bikes to Islip and hang out in the trees behind the starting line. Shortly after getting my license we headed to Montauk Point in early May 71 and came across Hampton Raceway by accident, it was around noon Saturday and 5 dollars to race so I signed up and made my first 1/4 mile passes in my 63 Dodge Polara with a disassembled Yamaha 100 in the trunk, talk about ballast.
