Looking for the best car and motor combination to run in the J K L and maybe even M N. Not looking to run in A B C at this time, just want to get a car to run in the 12.00 range or slower. Any help would be appreciated.

Best way to look is buying Nitro Joe's Stats....he advertises on the forum and its a great way to see what everybody across the country is running. Have any particular brand preference? Any aversion to laptop tuning or prefer carburators? Best combo regardless of cost or best value and capable of running just .3-.5 under the index?

The Chevelles are at 217 with a 283. 3210 lbs in M. This is a really good combo, but, takes some work to sort the coil spring suspension/chassis out. The Novas are a better car I think, but, have to be heavier.
Come on in, the water is fine!! Wade |

Billy Lynn and Dean Oliver have the '79 Malibu's flying. The early '80's Camaro 305's run hard. Some Pontiac's late 70's, Ford Mustangs 80's, as Wade said come on it's fun.

Don't forget about the Buick's. The '72 Gran Sport with the 350 is an awesome combination. Tim Lowe and Bob Gere are two good examples. Also, the '73 Apollo with the 350 is fast. Buick's are not the most popular cars, so we can control our horsepower factors much better then the more common cars (Camaro, Mustang, Malibu, etc).

I'm kinda fond of the 73-74 Buick Apollo combination also. It may not be the fastest, but the distributor is easy to get to! The GM guys think that we are OK and even the Ford folks don't mind because of that distributor location. That and everybody goes.... What the ...... , That's not a Chebbie! Don't call it a Nova!!
N - Nova (Chevy) O - Omega (Olds) V - Ventura (Pontiac) A - Apollo (Buick) coincidence????
