a friend of mine just bought this Mustang was wondering if anybody knows anything about it i have a couple of images it's been a race car and someone has sanded various spots on the car but you can still see the hand painted letters that says Tasca Ford on the door
It had SS/B on the pillar and said "contestant 1967 Winternationals Feb 5-6-7 " above the rear wheel |

I don't remember Tasca ever running a 67 coupe, so I called John Healy and he doesn't either. The car sounds fishy.

Tasca had a green 67 coupe that was the prototype for the cobra jets. It started as a 390 automatic that they put a 428 T-bird engine with 427 lo-riser heads, PI intake, headers, 780 holley and a small cam. That car was used to street race any and all the fast cars that would come out to the dealership! Bob Tasca sr would go out to the hyway with his t-bird with one of those 5th wheels in his trunk and measure off a quater mile. The only time I saw that car loss was to a D/gas 55 chevy!!!!!!!!!!! The car was plain green with no lettering.

Just Registered, so first off this is a great place cause I've snooped. This is actually my Mustang. I realize that there are cars that has been painted to look like an old racers but a lot of things has me curious just a little. This car is a 68 with the factory 302 4v, it has never been painted. The man I traded said it was an old race car and didn't know any history on the car. All the letters have been sanded off (not by me) but the letters were all hand painted and the paint has raised so you can read everything. I just asked my friend if he had ever heard of Tasca building a coupe, or even a small block beside the 302 tunnel port in 68. Any input would greatly be appreciated. Tasca won't even talk to me. Thanks again

You can't imagine how many times I've heard "yea, my Uncle/brother/neighbor had on of those red / white / blue factory Super Stock AMX". Seems better than 75% of the old AMX race cars were painted some form of red/white/blue. When I had Greg Ozbuco design my paint scheme, the first words out of my mouth were "anything bet r/w/b!
