Default Stock flat'69 Camaro Hood...

I have a stock flat hood from a '69 Camaro

It has been up in the rafters of my garage for 30 years....decent shape as I recall...

I also have a stock trunk lid.....from the same car. Not in perfect shape but usable....

I am in northern NJ

PM me if you are interested....

There seems to be an increase in demand for this as of late. Can some one explain why so many 1969 Camaro's suddenly are using flat hoods ? What rule changed ? Not meaning to steal your post it any manner.

NHRA Tech is telling racers the cold air hood is no longer allowed on 350/255's from what I was told.

They are being rquired to change hoods....

I bought a cold air hood new from GM and raced with it on my SS/JA Camaro in 1980...350/255.....

Almost every '69 Camaro had them on there. I have no idea why after 30+ years they are no longer allowed.

I would have to guess that they were never produced with that hood on assembly line cars with lower HP engines.

I can't recall seeing the cold air hood on almost any street car....other than a Z/28...

Jerry Macneish would likely know the answer about what exactly was and was not built or available....

Cowl hood was standard issue on Pace Car which can be an SS or RS, any available engine. 350/300 is base engine. Optional on base 350 /300 Camaro SS. Then there's the COPO cars. I guess 350/255 is grey area.
