Thanks for the updates.
I am sending Frank K a message now, asking him to keep race there. This is one of the nicest tracks in the country, as far as the actual track goes... smooth and hooks. Rest of the place is nice too! Lot of concrete parking, if you have never been there. Hope the post above about the new owner and Ken and Molly are 100% accurate, as that would give the racing community some peace of mind, and maybe have a better turnout. Ken |

I talked to Frank today and he told me they made a new offer to the bank to stay open. He was still waiting to hear their answer. I hope something can be worked out.

The Pro-Am will be rescheduled. It will be at Dallas Raceway but at a different date(TBD). Once IHRA got notice of the cease operations date they had to cancel the trophy orders and staff assignments for the event and trying to get all that together in a week and a half is just not feasible(along with Dallas Raceway staff has to put in a new timing system as it failed this past weekend). Keep an eye out on IHRA.com for the future date.

This is from the tracks website
GREAT News this week. What a way to start a week, after the week we had last week, Dallas Raceway is alive and should have a long life. Ken and Molly will continue to be a fixture in Crandall, TX with Dallas Raceway. After all the rumors last week, and folks jumping the gun, Dallas Raceway no longer has bank issues with the previous owner. We are proud to say, we are here to stay. Thank all of you that stood beside us and prayed for us, we certainly appreciate it. Now that we have the good news, the not so good news, we are still having computer issues on the timing equipment and we are working to get that fixed. We hope to have it fixed this week. As soon as we know it is fixed then we will post what is happening this weekend. With exception of this weekend and the IHRA Pro Am that was scheduled, which we are working to get it rescheduled now, the schedule is still fixed and we don’t anticipate any other issues with the schedule. Stay tuned and we will be posting what is happening this weekend as soon as we have the timing computer fixed, Ken does not want to post an event then have to cancel it if the computer is not fixed. We are here, and we are still the Concrete Palace, the Dallas Raceway!

Certainly is good news ... the facility's quality stands without question. Lets hope for a respectful car count for the rescheduled Pro-Am event.
To reference a much less attractive alternative, here's a shot of Hallsville Raceway today. I can't imagine Dallas Raceway (with so much concrete) becoming a subdivision, but I could picture a Lowes, Walmart or other big box store snatching it up at a bank sale.

Hope it's just a bureaucratic snafu but DRC just posted (again) that Dallas is closing and the Pro-Am being moved....

DRC is just behind the 8-ball by about 2 weeks. The track has been purchased, they are actually going to close the doors this weekend to do the neccesary upgrades to the timing system and other things Ken and Molly have been needing to do but couldn't. The track is OWNED by a racer and will stay a race track and they will have a Pro-am and the bracket finals there.
There was a bidding war going on which is how this all stemmed. A trucking company wanted the facility to use as a truck depot and luckily Mike Adcock stepped in to save the facility.
