That photo was taken at a 409 nostalgia event. Both cars were running VERY non stock stroker engines. Denny's car could run 10.30's then.
In Qualified NHRA D Stock, I believe he was at 11.30';s, at just under 120 MPH. No, in Stocker trim, it wouldn't launch like that ! BTW, Bob, there's been a C Stock 409 62 Chevy, running occasionaly out west, very low 11's at 123 MPH, since 2009. Denny has a finely engineered car, and knows what he's doing. I know it would be an experience, to line up side by side with him, and run off our respective Indexes !

Aubrey,, you mean THIS '62 409 C/S occasionaly running out west,, say like at Mission?

As a matter of fact, yes, Danny... I THINK that's it ?
I believe it's been to Medicine Hat a few times as well, since qualified under the Index, first time out ( for car and driver in NHRA ), in Stock Eliminator in September, 2005.
