Default Re: How can I make my new Challenger consistent?

I have street tires on the car and I have ESP off. With it on and when a tire would spin it would lose like .3 in ET. If car would spin with ESP off I would manually change shift point by a 100 rpm's and try and get some back. Otherwords I had room for improvement if needed, never ran it to its full potential in bracket mode.Never tried just running it all day, Im sure it would work. Using heat gun on intake after awhile it showed a pattern of heat to ET.

I have been leaving the ESP on You guys know Jake Pitt? Runs a Aspen stocker in Div 4 think he has a Cuda now too.
He told me one night "that thing will never go wide open off the line with ESP on" So the next week I turned it off. I do have street tires and try to go around the water but they still get a little wet so I just try to dry em off Well with ESP off this thing has blown off the tires completly and just quits ...still running with CEL but wont move drive or rev scared the CRAP out of me So we push it out of the way i see no parts hanging out the bottom,I cycle the key and all is fine. It set an "ENGINE OVERSPEED" code I swore I would never touch that button again...but......,...

do yourself a favor and get some drag radials. weld makes a 17x10 wheel you can use and hoosier makes a 275 40/17 tire

you'll hook up fine with the DRs and you also be able to turn off the ESP. the car will 60 alot more consistantly with th drag radials. get the car consistant and then we'll work on going faster

sounds like your car is hitting "limp mode" nothing to worry about now.

here is a video of my car with my son driving. notice the 60ft. i think this run is with my M&H DRs on bogarts but i aslo have hoosiers for the 300. he finished 2nd in pts at the local track his first year driving
